Still Sick After Mold Remediation? What Helped My Patient

You fixed the leak. You tore out the drywall. You paid for remediation. And you still feel awful. That’s where Robin was in 2025: the mold was gone from her walls, but her family was still sick, and she was still living in fear.

In this video, she tells her story herself, start to finish. We cover what worked, what didn’t, and why getting better doesn’t have to be as hard or as expensive as many clinics make it sound.

Right after our first visit, Robin came across this quote:

“One day you’ll tell the story of how you overcame this, and it will be someone else’s survival guide.”

Here’s her story.

90% Better: Probiotics, Binders, No Itraconazole

Limbic retraining and binders were Robin’s two biggest wins. We started probiotics in September, added the binder in January, and by March the fog had lifted.

The probiotics themselves bind mold toxins, so we didn’t have to blast her with high-dose itraconazole. Not every mold patient needs it. Most need a gentle nudge, because if you push a frightened system, it withdraws.

Robin 2.0 and Limbic Retraining

By April, Robin emailed me: “I’m back. I’m Robin 2.0!” She says she couldn’t have moved past the fear without limbic training.

This isn’t telling you it’s all in your head. It calms your immune and nervous systems so your body can accept the treatments, and not everyone with mold needs it.

Why Did I Get Sick? Boundaries and Mold

At her first visit, I told Robin I suspected her habit of taking on everyone else’s problems had depleted her. Part of her healing was learning healthy boundaries.

“Why did I get sick?” is a question every patient can ask themselves. Just listen to the answer, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Mold Toxicity vs Allergy: Why Some Get Sicker

Mold causes two distinct illness patterns that can overlap: allergy, and toxicity from mycotoxins that damage the brain, immune tissue, and autonomic nervous system. In one family, one person takes Allegra, one has eczema, and one has seizures.

Genetics, childhood trauma, and loose connective tissue like hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos make some people more vulnerable. No amount of mold is healthy, and recovery doesn’t have to cost a million dollars.
